Delete your Gyvo account

Gyvo is the Android fitness app with the package name app.gyvo.steps. You only need an account for Promises and for the optional cloud sync — the rest of the app measures, stores and shows without a sign-in. This page describes how to delete the account itself, and what happens to what belongs to it.

In the app

This path deletes the account right away, and the app shows a receipt once the cloud has confirmed it is gone.

  1. 1

    Open More → Account

More is the last tab in the app, and Account is the card where the sign-in sits.

  2. 2

Sign in if you are signed out

The app can only delete the account it is signed in to. Signed out, there is no delete button there, and that is deliberate — a button that doesn't know which account it means shouldn't exist.

  3. 3

    Tap Delete my account

The app first shows what is removed and what stays. Press again and the account is deleted, and you are signed out. It can't be undone.

If you no longer have the app

Write to support@gyvo.app and ask us to delete your account. Send the email from the address the account uses, or say which address it is — that is how we know the account is yours. We delete it by hand and reply once it is done.

If you have never signed in to Gyvo there is no account to delete. The app measures without a sign-in, and what it measured then lives only on your own phone.

What is deleted

The sign-in
Your email address, the name and the profile-picture link Google handed over when you signed in. You are signed out, and the account can't be brought back. The same Google account can sign in again later — as a new account with nothing in it.
Promises and friends
The promises you have made, their periods and goals, and the addresses of the friends you chose yourself. After the deletion no missed promise can email anyone.
The cloud copy
The history you have synced, if you turned cloud sync on: the days, the workouts and the camera's counts that sit in your cloud account.

What stays

The history on the phone
What the app has measured stays where it has always been. The account is the sign-in, not the measurements — if you want out of those too, use Delete my data under More → Data & device, or uninstall the app.
A friend's no to emails
A friend who declined stays unsubscribed. That choice is your friend's and not yours, and a deletion that handed it back would turn “starting over” into a way to email someone who asked not to be.
The key behind the unsubscribe link
A row with your friend's address in plain text, written when an email was sent or attempted. The key is the whole authorisation in the link: remove the row and the way out stops working for an email that is already in someone's inbox.

If you left your email in the waiting list here on gyvo.app, it doesn't belong to the account and isn't touched by the deletion. Write to support@gyvo.app and we'll remove it.

When it happens

The deletion in the app happens the moment you confirm it: the rows are removed from the database, the sign-in is removed last, and the receipt is written only once the cloud has answered that the account is gone. We keep no copy of a deleted account anywhere else.

The cloud provider's own routine database backups are outside what the app can reach, and roll over on the provider's own schedule. We never restore a deleted account from them.
