How does my phone count a workout?
Set your phone down so the camera can see you. Gyvo counts push-ups and squats on the device. In Coach mode, a rep counts when you reach the depth you calibrated yourself. Lunges and plank timing are in testing. Running and walking can also be measured from your pocket; start a GPS workout yourself for a route, pace and distance. Estimates are labelled as estimates.
What happens when my apps are on hold?
You choose the apps, daily goals and the hour the hold starts. From then on, a screen asks you to return to your goals. It lifts when the goals are met, never later than midnight. You can turn it off, and the home button always works. A goal Gyvo couldn’t measure never causes a hold; another measured, unfinished goal can still keep it up. It needs Android Usage access and Display over other apps permissions. The chosen-app list stays on your phone.
What exactly does my friend receive?
Only if you make a goal a promise and choose that friend. After a missed daily goal, an email can go from 07:00 the next morning in your time zone, once Gyvo has a reliable figure for the whole day. It includes the goal, your number, the week’s progress when available, and a link to stop further emails. If there is no reliable figure, a separate kind of email says so, without claiming you missed the goal. Promises require Google sign-in; your friend needs no account or app.
Is the camera recording me?
No. Pose analysis runs on your phone. No image or video is stored or sent anywhere. Workout data stays on the phone unless you choose cloud sync or make a goal a promise. A promise sends that goal, its history and the period’s number to the cloud, even with sync off.
Is Gyvo free?
The app is free: its measurements, your goals, Promises and Earn your scroll. Optional cloud sync will be $10 a month. There’s no billing yet, and nothing in the app can charge you today.
Does it work on iPhone?
Android first. The current early version is a direct APK download. iPhone is on the list: join the waitlist below and we’ll email you once when it is ready.
Can I use it in English or Swedish?
Yes. The app’s own screens speak both languages; choose under More → Settings. The hold screen currently follows your phone’s language rather than your choice in the app, and the line explaining why it’s holding is written in Swedish. The illustrations here are drawn in English.
